Takin' a Break

61471666_c16c1204b7_b_4It's so much fun visiting other blogs, commenting on photos and making ZoomAlbums, that we're going to take a break from posting. We may return after a bit.

In the meantime, visit some of our favorite places that we linked to in previous posts. Here's a few more:

If you have a favorite site, post a comment, and we'll add to our list.

"...Do Something Different"

Img_1056 According to speaker, author and fellow blogger Graham Jones, "If you want your presentation to be recalled by your audience, do something different." That's great advice - and I want to tell you about something different you can do with handouts.

A lot of us rely on PowerPoint® presentations every day. But what kind of handouts do you have?

ZoomAlbum™ Creator software Version 1.09 has a feature that allows you to import PowerPoint slides so you can print them in this neat little album. Yesterday I had the opportunity to try it out. It's pretty cool and it may just be the unique leavebehind that will make your audience remember you and your product or service. Just think, a custom printed cover and 12 color slides highlighting your key points. The possibilities are endless.

Check it out. You can make 'em yourself or download the software, import the slides and have a quantity of albums made at the  "You Pic 'em, We Print 'em" Online Store. Here's the easy instructions.

Silhouettes

SilhouetteIsn't this a great silhouette of a child? The hat is wonderful. My parents used to have silhouette photos hanging in the living room and I developed an appreciation for them.

If you're like me, maybe you captured a silhouette by accident, or you always wondered how they do that. If so, check the sites below for tips and examples.

Aren't digital photographs fun? What scene would you like to capture as a silhouette?

Telegraph Wires are Buzzin'

TelegraphOn June 27, 1847, New York and Boston were linked by telegraph wires. Think about the buzz and excitement that must have gone on! In honor of this day in history, here's an interesting photo.

I was happy to see that a few others shared my interest in these photos. Here are a few blogs that have interesting pictures of telegraph wires.

Do you have a favorite digital photograph with telegraph wires?

Walking the Cow...

Bicyclecow_1 On this date - June 26 - in 1819, the bicycle was patented (at least according to one source). Since then, I have found many other references and patents.

Anyway, I like the topic of bicycles for today. They have changed our lives. We use bicycles for sports, play, our daily commute, and even to exercise pets. This picture caught my attention. Do you have a favorite digital photograph of a bicycle to share?

Here are a few blogs on bicycling that may be of interest.

How Has Your Life Improved with Technology?

OuthouseProbably many of you remember using one of these outhouses. Times sure have changed for the better.

That's true with photography, too. My dad was a newspaper photographer, so as a youngster I spent a lot of time with him in the darkroom, watching anxiously for film to be developed and processed to see how our pictures turned out. Today we can snap a photo with a digital camera and immediately print it.

My favorite method to share photos today is a ZoomAlbum™. People of all ages smile when I hand them one of these unique books. They are so easy to make. Take a look at the directions.

What's Buggin' You?

BugMy two- and five-year-old grandkids are thrilled with bugs of all types. Since I don't get to see them very often, I'm making ZoomAlbum™s filled with pictures of bugs we took together. It's an easy way to bridge the distance between us and they remember what fun we had that day.

Here's some neat sites about bugs.

Macro Photography: An Art Form

Macro_flower_1I find macro photography amazing - probably because of the detail that is brought into clear vision, like using a microscope. If you enjoy macro photos, you will like browsing through the entries from the recent EBSQ Macro Photography '06 online art show.

Check out some of these links for unique photos as well as hints to help you with macro photography.
